Verisign Announces Delegation of .Web
Verisign announced that the .web top-level domain has been delegated into the global DNS root zone, designating the company as the registry operator following the resolution of all related disputes. Leveraging infrastructure that has delivered 100% uptime for .com and .net over 29 years, Verisign plans to offer .web domains through its registrar partners later this year. The new TLD will be governed by ICANN's Base Registry Agreement and will not be subject to the Cooperative Agreement with the U.S.
