The short version
Signal8 has a mobile app for iPhone and Android, listed in the App Store and Google Play as Signal8 Market Intelligence. The app shows the same Signal8 you use in a browser: company pages, screeners, the scanner, insider and politician pages, your watchlist and alerts. Your account, watchlist and plan are the same on every device.
What the app adds is the phone-specific layer: push notifications for your alerts, native Continue with Apple and Continue with Google sign-in, an optional App Lock behind Face ID or your passcode, and the option to buy Signal8 Pro through the App Store or Google Play.
How the app relates to the website
The app loads the live Signal8 site inside a native shell. That has two practical consequences:
- New features arrive without an app update. When a page or screener changes on signal8.ai, it changes in the app at the same time.
- Everything on the web works in the app, with the same plan rules. A card that is locked on a free account in a browser is locked in the app too.
If your phone has no connection, the app shows an offline screen instead of a blank page.
The Signal8 Terminal opens inside the app rather than sending you to a separate website, so it keeps your session and loads quickly. On a phone the Terminal shows a view switcher (Chart, Watchlist, Company, Trades) instead of side-by-side panels; see the Terminal tour.
First launch
The first time you open the app, a short onboarding flow runs. Depending on your situation it includes:
- Notifications. A prompt explaining what alerts look like, followed by your phone's own permission dialog. You can decline and turn notifications on later.
- Account. Continue with Apple, Continue with Google, or a one-time code sent to your email. You can also choose Create account later and browse first.
- Phone number (US only, optional). After an account exists, US users may be asked to add a phone number. It can be skipped.
- Signal8 Pro and Discord. After a new signup, a screen describes Signal8 Pro, followed by an invitation to the Signal8 Discord.
An existing account signs in with the same method you used on the web.
Push notifications for your alerts
Push is one of the delivery channels for Signal8 alerts. In the app the setting is labelled App Notifications, and it is the same switch as browser push on the website: turning on push in your notification settings covers both.
For push to arrive, three things must all be true:
- You are tracking at least one entity on your watchlist, with the categories you want switched on (for example the 8-K or Dilution pills for a company).
- Push is switched on in your account's notification settings, and you pressed Save Settings.
- Your phone allows notifications from Signal8. If it does not, the app shows a banner pointing you to Settings → Notifications → Signal8.
App Lock with Face ID or passcode
On the account page inside the app there is an App Lock switch. When it is on, Signal8 asks for Face ID or your device passcode each time you open the app. If your phone has neither set up, the switch explains that you need to set up Face ID or a passcode on the device first. App Lock is a convenience layer on top of your normal sign-in, and you can turn it off from the same place.
Buying or restoring Signal8 Pro in the app
Signal8 Pro can be purchased inside the app through the App Store or Google Play, with a monthly or annual option. The prices shown in the app come from the store and can differ from the website, where Pro is $59 a month or $588 a year. On the website, the annual plan works out to $588 ÷ 12 = $49 a month, which is $708 - $588 = $120 less than twelve monthly payments.
After a purchase, Pro usually unlocks on your Signal8 account within a minute. If it has not appeared after a few minutes, use Restore Purchases on the same screen rather than buying again. A store subscription is managed and cancelled in your phone's App Store or Google Play subscription settings, not on signal8.ai.
What the app is not
The app is a research and alerts tool. It does not place trades. Any brokerage features you may see referenced elsewhere are not generally available, and nothing in the app is investment advice.
How to get started on Signal8
- Install the app from the App Store or Google Play by searching for Signal8 Market Intelligence, then sign in with the account you use on the web.
- Set up what you want to hear about on the alerts page, then enable push in your account's notification settings.
- Compare plans on the Pro page.
FAQ
Is there a Signal8 app for iPhone and Android?
Yes. The app is in the App Store and Google Play as Signal8 Market Intelligence. It shows the same Signal8 site as a browser, with push notifications, native Apple and Google sign-in, an optional Face ID or passcode lock, and in-app purchase of Signal8 Pro on top.
Why am I not getting push notifications from the Signal8 app?
Check three things: that you are tracking at least one company, insider, institution or politician with categories switched on; that push is enabled in your account's notification settings and saved; and that your phone allows notifications from Signal8 under Settings, Notifications. If any one is missing, alerts appear only inside the app.
I bought Pro in the app but it is not showing. What should I do?
Pro usually unlocks within a minute of purchase. If it has not after a few minutes, open the Pro purchase screen in the app and tap Restore Purchases, which links the store purchase to your signed-in account. Do not buy again; a second purchase would be a second subscription.
Does the mobile app have the same features as the website?
Yes. The app loads the live Signal8 site, so pages, screeners, alerts and plan rules match the website and update at the same time. The app adds push notifications, native sign-in, App Lock and store purchasing, which the website does not need.
